ALRESFORD Town progressed in the Hampshire Senior Cup with a 5-1 win at home to Andover Town last Wednesday night.

Steve Hall (2), Matt Andrews, Tom Sands and Aaron Blaxall were on target for the Magpies, and Jason Silver scored for the visitors.

Alresford then slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Sholing on Saturday afternoon in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

Dan Miller broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 42nd minute, and Lee Wort made it 2-0 on 79 minutes.
