ALRESFORD Town are in 20th place in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division after crashing to a 2-0 defeat at Team Solent on Monday night.

Tyrell Mitford and Matthew Sheedy scored the goals that gave the home side the three points.

The Magpies had better fortunes on Saturday afternoon, when they won 2-1 at lowly Hamworthy United in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

Nicholas Swann gave the hosts the lead, but Steve Hall equalised for Alresford in the 53rd minute.

Hall then scored his second goal of the match on 84 minutes to give the Magpies an impressive 2-1 win.

Alresford were also in action last Wednesday night, when they lost 2-1 against high-flying Blackfield and Langley at Arlebury Park in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

The visitors took the lead in the first half through Liam Robinson’s goal, and Samuel Poole doubled Blackfield and Langley’s advantage in the second half.

John Cole pulled a goal back for the Magpies in the 84th minute, but the visitors held on for the three points.
