HORNDEAN endured a mixed week with a cup win and a comprehensive defeat.

The Deans started their week with a 3-1 win at home to Brockenhurst last Tuesday night in the second round of the Sydenhams League Cup.

Ollie Dennett gave the visitors the lead, but Tommy Leigh equalised for Horndean before half time.

Josh Maloney gave the Deans the lead in the second half, before Leigh scored his second of the match to make it 3-1.

Horndean then crashed to an emphatic 6-0 defeat at Blackfield and Langley on Saturday in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

Liam Robinson’s goal gave the hosts a 1-0 lead at half time, and the floodgates opened in the second half. Connor Doe scored Blackfield’s second, and Ryan Oatley made it 3-0.

Robinson then scored his second and Blackfield’s fourth, before Jordan Ngalo made it 5-0. Robinson then completed his hat-trick to make it 6-0.
