HORNDEAN have had a mixed week after exiting the Portsmouth Senior Cup and picking up three points in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

The Deans started their week by losing against United Services Portsmouth Reserves in the second round of the Portsmouth Senior Cup.

The home side took the lead in the 11th minute through Freddie Penfold’s goal, but Josh Maloney equalised for the Deans on 28 minutes.

Harry Jackson put Horndean 2-1 ahead in the 41st minute, but Ryan Morgan equalised for the hosts on 72 minutes.

The match finished 2-2 and went to a penalty shoot-out, which United Services Portsmouth Reserves won 4-3.

The Deans then won 1-0 away at mid-table Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

Tyler Moret scored the only goal of the game for Horndean in the 45th minute.
