HORNDEAN are in eighth place in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division after a win and a defeat in the last week.

The Deans started their week with an impressive 3-0 win at bottom side Verwood Town last Wednesday night.

The visitors took the lead in the first half through Robbie Tambling’s goal, and Connor Duffin doubled Horndean’s advantage after the break.

Tambling’s header then made it 3-0 to the Deans and sealed a comfortable win.

Horndean crashed back down to earth with a bump on Saturday, when they slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Sholing.

The hosts took the lead in the first half when Benny Read put the ball in his own goal.

The Boatmen doubled their advantage after the break when Dan Mason’s powerful shot hit the roof of the net.

Micky Hubbard completed the scoring when his curled effort made it 3-0 to the home side late on.
