WEYMOUTH midfielder Mark Molesley has certainly witnessed the highs and lows of the FA Cup over the last two seasons.
During last season’s cup competition he was a constant thorn in Pompey’s side when he played for Aldershot Town in the first round proper.
He scored for the Shots in the 2-2 draw at Fratton Park before scoring the only goal in the replay at the Recreation Ground which sent League 2 Portsmouth tumbling out of the FA Cup.
His cup fortunes couldn’t have been any more different this season.
Saturday proved to be his only game in the competition after he received his marching orders in the first half.
The referee gave him a straight red card for a lunging tackle in the middle of the pitch. Molesley thought he had only caught the Petersfield player with one leg not two but his FA Cup campaign was over after 32 minutes.
