HAVING more players on the pitch has helped a junior football team in Petersfield obtain a new kit for the 2020-21 season.

Last season the Petersfield Town Juniors Football Club’s under-12 Pumas team was given a blue and yellow kit sponsored and donated by David Wilson Homes, which built the Causeway Park housing development in the town.

But with the Pumas moving up to under-13 level this year, they are now playing 11-a-side matches for the first time.

This means there are three extra players in their squad, which was the perfect opportunity to have another strip – and David Wilson Homes offered to provide sponsorship again to pay for their new expanded set of kit, which includes training tracksuits.

Petersfield Town Juniors play in the North East Hampshire Youth League and will also be playing in the Hampshire Cup.

Martin Ewen from Petersfield Town Juniors said: “We’re absolutely over the moon with this donation and David Wilson Homes’ kind generosity.

“It’s great to know a large developer invests in the neighbourhood and community relationships in this way.

“Thank you very much from all of us at Petersfield Town Juniors FC.”

Jon Green, managing director of David Wilson Homes’ Southampton division, said: “The Petersfield Town Juniors do such great work and we were pleased to be able to provide them with ongoing support, both with our previous donation and new kit.”
