IT WAS building up into another tumultuous week in the season from hell for Petersfield Town – but in the end nothing happened.

Last week’s Post reported that manager John Robson had left Love Lane during the half time interval after watching his side go 3-0 down in the first half hour against Kidlington.

But in the end the Petersfield committee decided against making any changes to the club’s coaching structure before the end of the season, meaning Robson remains in charge of first team matters.

It was another twist in what has become a bizarre return to the Rams for Robson – who was first appointed manager in October in what was the start of his second spell with the club.

In November he was sacked by the club, only to be re-appointed three days later and Petersfield are still looking for their first league win since that incident.

Following his walk-out during the Kidlington game, Robson apologised to the club for his actions but insisted that he hadn’t resigned from his position as manager.

The club’s committee met last week to discuss the situation and it was agreed that the current coaching structure would remain unchanged until the end of the season.

Petersfield are at home to Aylesbury this Saturday (3pm) and then face Moneyfields at Love Lane in the semi finals of the Portsmouth Senior Cup next Tuesday night (7.45pm).
