PEOPLE are coming from far and wide to enjoy Petersfield Town’s spectacular journey up the non-league pyramid.

Ground hoppers have been travelling from all over the country since the Rams gained Evo-Stik League Southern status to add Love Lane to their grounds visited lists.

However, no one in Saturday’s sizeable crowd could match the lengths Andrew Fleming went to watch the FA?Cup tie.

He had to endure an 8,000 mile round trip just to enjoy the magic of the world’s most famous cup competition.

He flew in from Abuja in Nigeria on Friday and picked the Petersfield v Weymouth game to visit after a chance trip to the stadium 35 years ago.

He explained:?“I?remember coming through Petersfield as a boy aged about 11 in 1980 or 1981 and insisting my parents stop off so I?could see the ground on a non-matchday. I?had always wanted to come back to Petersfield and see a game.”

Andrew, who works for the British High Commission in Nigeria’s capital city, has visited more than 500 football grounds around the world. He added:?“It was a terrific day out and a super result for Petersfield – I?will follow the club from West Africa with interest.”
