PETERSFIELD Town have got their hands on more trophies after winning in two categories at the East Hampshire Sports Awards.

The Rams won the Senior Team of the Year prize for the first team’s performance throughout 2015 and manager Ian Saunders picked up the Performance Coach of the Year award.

More than 300 people attended the awards ceremony, which was held last Thursday evening at Old Thorns Manor Hotel in Liphook.

The awards, organised by East Hampshire District Council, recognise sporting achievements and the commitment of the people who make success possible.

Guest speaker at the event was former athlete Roger Black, and the evening was presented by ITV Meridian Tonight stalwart and long-time supporter of the occasion Fred Dinenage.

Petersfield Town chairman Graeme Moir said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won these two awards.

“They are great recognition for the achievements and hard work by the club from the community we represent.

“Ian and the first team fully deserve these awards for their efforts over the last 12 months and creating some memories which will never be forgotten in the club’s proud history.

“We are very proud to have been recognised by the sporting community of East Hampshire and we are happy and proud to have contributed to another great sporting year for the district.”
