Petersfield Town 0 Blackfield & Langley 4: PETERSFIELD Town had no answer to the Blackfield promotion chasing juggernaut when it rolled into town last Thursday evening.
The visitors not only cemented their place in the top two of the Wessex Premier Division but this result also means they made more inroads into Andover Town’s lead over them.
Blackfield broke the deadlock on 27 minutes when the home defence didn’t deal with a ball played into the penalty area and Lerone Plummer got on to the ball to tuck his shot under Petersfield keeper Luke Eaton from 10 yards out.
That’s how the score stayed until half time and Blackfield threatened again four minutes after the re-start when they worked the ball forward on the left and after Petersfield had only managed to clear the ball to the edge of the box, Franklyn Clarke tried his luck but his shot looped wide of the goal.
The visitors doubled their lead on the hour mark when they made inroads down the left. The ball was eventually squared to the far side of the goal where Joe Butcher was waiting and he slammed his shot home at the far post.
A quick throw in on the left unlocked the home defence on 79 minutes. This time Sami Makhloufi took the ball past three challenges as he drove into the penalty area and then waited for Eaton to go down before he rolled his shot into the net.
The scoring was finished off in the 90th minute when Liam Robinson slammed his shot home into the roof of the net from close range.
