PETERSFIELD Town have avoided having the worst defensive record in the country this season.

The Rams conceded a total of 170 goals from their 42 Wessex Premier Division games during the campaign – 60 more than second from bottom Newport IOW.

However, United Counties League Premier Division side Northampton Sileby Rangers have passed Petersfield’s goals conceded tally at step five of the non-league pyramid system as they have let in 177 goals so far.

They prop up the Premier Division table and their season has included two thrashings by double figures as well.
