ANOTHER chapter in what has become a sorry season for Petersfield Town was completed last week when former manager Ian Saunders was sacked by Southern League Winchester City.

Saunders left the Rams just a week before the start of the current campaign to take up the manager’s role with the club along the A272.

But despite two good cup runs and a mid-table position, Winchester decided to ask the former Rams boss to step down.

Petersfield chairman Graeme Moir said:?“I?was sad to see this news last Tuesday. There are no winners from all of this – the season could have been very different.”
