PETERSFIELD Town have continued their programme of pre-season friendlies with a win and a draw in the last week.

Last Tuesday night the Rams enjoyed a 2-1 victory on the road against Sussex side Lancing.

Petersfield took the lead five minutes before half time thanks to Harry Giles’ goal.

The home side equalised on 52 minutes but straight from the kick-off Matt Brown hit the ball straight towards the home goal and it sailed over the keeper and into the net.

On Sunday morning the Rams had to settle for a 1-1 draw from their trip to Folland Sports.

Grant Cameron fired the visitors ahead in the first half and the Rams were well worth their half time lead.

They will wonder why they weren’t further ahead at the interval as they had a number of chances on goal but they were left to rue those misses at the end of the match.

The home side staged something of a second half comeback after putting in a much stronger showing than their first half display.

They equalised after a questionable penalty was awarded for a foul although the Petersfield defender appeared to have cleanly won the ball on the edge of the box.

Petersfield’s pre-season preparations continued last night (Tuesday) with a friendly at Arundel.

The first action of the new season at Love Lane takes place this Saturday with a double header against Midhurst from 2pm – just three days before the start of the Wessex League campaign.
