WE FEAR no one – that is the Rams’ rallying call as Petersfield Town prepare to host the league leaders at Love Lane tonight (Wednesday).

Egham Town are the visitors for the Division 1 Central fixture (kick-off 7.45pm) and Petersfield will be keen to extend their run of winning form.

Saturday’s impressive 6-2 win at Aylesbury Town lifted the Rams up to 16th place in the table – their highest league position since the end of August – and made it three wins in a row in league and cup competitions.

Assistant manager Jason Hampson issued the rallying call ahead of tonight’s game and stressed that his side had no cause to fear any side in the division.

“Just because they are at the top of the table doesn’t mean we have to approach the game any differently,” explained Hampson.

“We will be going for the win with our usual style of play and as you can see in the results in this division, any one is capable of beating any other team.

“Looking at Egham’s record, we have lost only one game more than them but their level of consistency is the reason why they are higher up the table than us.

“We need to get back to that winning form and mentality of last season which helped us to win the title.

“Watching Saturday’s game at Aylesbury we showed signs that we are slowly getting back to that.

“If we can replicate last season’s form then anything could be possible in terms of our final finishing position.”
