Petersfield Town 1 Ringwood Town 1: THE RAMS produced an excellent first-half display but were hindered by a poor showing in the second half as they had to settle for a share of the spoils.
Petersfield started well, applying pressure from the off, and they were awarded a free kick early on for a handball inches out of the area.
Will Webb expertly dinked the ball over the wall, only to be denied by a fingertip save on to the crossbar, leaving Cam Smith with the simple job of nodding into an empty net.
Ringwood started poorly and the Rams created plenty of chances to double their advantage. Smith’s effort was blocked and an audacious overhead kick from Tremlett went just wide.
Petersfield’s Marvin Orepo then charged down the left, went into the area and hit a shot. His effort was blocked by Liam Harris. The ball appeared to deflect up on to a defender’s arm, but no penalty was given.
Orepo was involved again when he created a chance for Matt Low, but Harris tipped his shot over the bar.
Ringwood came out with a different approach in the second half, closing Petersfield down at every chance.
This led to more attacking play from the visitors, mostly down the wings.
Ringwood got their rewards and equalised in the 70th minute. An accurate delivery from the right went straight to Nasim Meddah. He turned Kris Stevens and his shot deflected in, despite Matt Petts getting a glove to it.
Webb and Ryan Kennedy both had chances to win the game for Petersfield, but the Rams had to settle for a point.
