PETERSFIELD Town manager Mark Summerhill is hoping for three points when his side entertain Fawley at Love Lane on Friday night in Division One of the Sydenhams Wessex League.
The mid-table Rams will be hosting a Fawley side who are struggling towards the bottom of the table. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
Petersfield drew 1-1 at Fawley earlier in the season, but Summerhill says he is looking for three points in Friday’s return fixture.
“Fawley at home on Friday night is hopefully a winnable game,” he said. “We will be looking for a result.
“We’ve had some tough trips to New Milton, who we played off the park, and Andover New Street, who have a big budget and big resources.
“Friday night is a really big game for us.
“We’ll look to take the positives from Andover and go into the Fawley game at home on the front foot.
“If we win the game that will be a perfect week.
“Fawley are struggling in the table and these are the games we have got to win if we want to finish in the top seven or eight. It’s a bread and butter game we need to win.
“We would like to give ourselves a chance of pushing for the top few places at the end of the season.”
The Rams have the best defensive record in their league, and while Summerhill is pleased with that he does want his team to be more clinical in front of goal.
“We’ve got the best defensive record, but we’re trying to create more chances,” he said.
“We’re working very hard on it and are having specific sessions on finishing.
“We’ve got some really good finishers at the club, but the goals have dried up from midfield since Harry Bedford left.
“We’ve already got a good total of points though, which we want to add to.”
