PETERSFIELD Town have started the search for their third manager of the season after it was announced Andy Neal was standing down from the role at the Southern League club.

The announcement was made this evening on the club’s official website - less than 24 hours before the Rams are due to play at Bedford Town in the Southern League Division 1 Central.

The statement, from club chairman Graeme Moir, said: "Andy Neal has stepped down from the first team manager’s position with immediate effect - it was a decision reached amicably between myself as chairman, club officials and Andy himself.

"The club will always be indebted to Andy for stepping up to the role just a week before the season started and guiding the first team through a very difficult, unsettled period for the club.

"On behalf of everyone at Petersfield Town FC I would like to thank Andy for his hard work and extraordinary effort he has put into helping the club through what have been some very testing times for all of us involved - but none more so than Andy when you consider the time he has had to put in at the club over the last two months.

"The players have been informed of the situation and what the club’s plans are for tomorrow’s match at Bedford Town. Gary Lines and Paul Marsh will be taking on first team responsibilities for tomorrow’s league game.

"I will make a further, more in depth statement on Sunday via the club’s website, facebook and Twitter accounts."
