PETERSFIELD Town manager Mark Summerhill was delighted with his side after they won at highly-fancied Bemerton Heath Harlequins on Saturday.

The Rams came from behind, thanks to goals from Matt Low and Harry Tremlett, to claim the three points.

Summerhill said: “We didn’t get going in the first ten minutes and went 1-0 down, but after 15 minutes we grew into the game and had a long spell on top.

“We played some really attractive football. In the second half we came out and started where we left off. There was only one team in it.

“Marvin Orepo and Will Webb both played well and occupied the opposition.

“Matt Low scored a brilliant goal, and we kept going forward. Harry Tremlett’s winner was well deserved.”

After a mixed start to the season Petersfield have now won three games on the bounce – beating Verwood Town, AFC Stoneham and Bemerton in the process.

Summerhill now wants his side to carry on their good form going forward.

“We’re high on confidence now after three wins in a row,” he said.

“We played some nice football and our movement was really good.

“Beating Bemerton is a massive statement and it shows how far we’ve come as a club. The next target is to perform like this consistently in the league.

“We worked our socks off and the players gave everything. I can’t ask for more than that.”
