PETERSFIELD Town manager Mark Summerhill believes key player Will Essai was missed during the 3-0 defeat against Amesbury Town.

Essai was unavailable for the match because of an injury.

Summerhill said: “Will has had a good season and gets in behind defenders, and we missed that on Saturday. He has a stomach issue and we hope to get him back soon.

“Matt Shortt played really well on his return to the club and took his crosses, although he didn’t have a lot to do.

“New signing Luke Edwards came off the bench and we gave youngster Will Webb his debut.”
