GETTING rid of their ‘losers’ tag is one of the biggest challenges facing Petersfield Town this close season.
That’s the verdict of vice chairman Graeme Moir as the club prepares to face its final two fixtures of a torrid season.
The Rams have only chalked up 12 points from 40 league matches during the current campaign.
That is only a slight improvement on last season when Petersfield ended up with nine points as they were relegated from the Southern League.
After two difficult seasons, Moir believes the club must now do everything it can to get off to a positive winning start to next season.
“The last two seasons have been really difficult for everyone at the club to endure,” Moir explained.
“There’s nothing we can do about them now so what we must now ensure going forward is that this losing run doesn’t spread into a third season in a row.
“As much as winning is a habit, losing can also become an unwanted habit when it happens so regularly.
“We have to break that cycle now. We can’t let things continue as they are for any more seasons.
“I know that our manager Mark Summerhill is already starting work on this and others behind the scenes at the club are working on this.
“After getting these final few games out of the way, the club must focus on getting rid of this losing habit.”
