PETERSFIELD Town’s reserve team completed a Wyvern League double when they won the Challenge Cup on Friday evening.
The Rams’ second string lifted the trophy after beating AFC Stoneham 2-1 at Hythe and Dibden FC.
Goals from Joe Boxall and Max Smith put Petersfield 2-0 up before Stoneham pulled a goal back and set up a tense finish to the match.
Shane Brayson’s side failed to take any of the many chances they created to extend their lead and their opponents had one or two half chances where they could have nicked an equaliser and taken the cup tie into a penalty shoot-out.
