PETERSFIELD Town kicked-off their pre-season training with a flurry of new signings on Tuesday night.
New manager Jim Macey and his coaching team started their preparations for the new season at Love Lane, with a strong turnout for the first training session of the campaign.
The football management team were busy securing the signatures of players for the 2017-18 campaign and eight more players committed to the Rams on the night.
New signings included striker Luke Walker, who has nearly hooked up with Petersfield in the past few seasons.
He played for Amesbury Town and Whitchurch United in the Wessex League last season.
Central player Alistair Brown has also signed for the Rams – he made 32 appearances for Amesbury Town last season.
Another new arrival was Grant Powell. The former Tadley Calleva player can play in the number 10 role or out wide.
As well as new faces, Tuesday’s opening training session was also about welcoming some familiar faces back to the club for the new season.
Defender Josh Wycherley, who played for both the first team and reserves last season, has committed to the club for the 2017-18 campaign, as has goalkeeper Luke Eaton.
He was out practically for the whole of last season with an injury and will be looking to feature prominently as he continues working his way back to full fitness.
Also looking to feature prominently in the new campaign are members of Petersfield’s double winning reserve team from last season.
Midfielder Ryan Kennedy and defenders Chris Harvey and Fraser Beauchamp have all re-signed for the club for the 2017-18 season and will be looking to push for first team places in the season ahead.
