PETERSFIELD Town have strengthened their squad with the arrival of Lewis Tosdevine.

Injuries are starting to mount up for the Love Lane outfit, and Rams boss Mark Summerhill is pleased Tosdevine has joined the club.

“Lewis is a right back who can play at centre half, and I’m delighted we’ve got him,” said Summerhill.

“Kris Stevens and Michael Wright should be back this week, although we are still looking for new players as the injuries are racking up.

“Sean Burton and Jake Bourton are out this week, Matt Petts is injured and we’ll assess Harry Tremlett. That’s four key injuries there.

“Will Essai should hopefully be back in early December.

“We still don’t have a physiotherapist, which isn’t helping.”

Next up for the Rams is a home game against Andover Town in Division One of the Sydenhams Wessex League on Saturday (3pm).

And Summerhill is targeting three points from the match.

“Andover will be a big game for us,” he said.

“It is a home game we’ve got to win. If we follow up the draw at Fawley with a home win then suddenly that’s a good away point at Fawley for us.

“We’re well ahead of target at the moment, but if we want to push on this season we need to win these home games.”

The Rams have won their past three games against Andover, but Summerhill is taking nothing for granted.

“We beat Andover 3-2 in the Russell Cotes Cup earlier this year, and last year we won 5-4 at their place and 2-1 at home, but it wasn’t easy,” he said.

“They are a young side with no fear and they never know when they are beaten. They have a lot of resilience and character, but it is still a home game we’ve got to target to win.

“They’re young and fit and they like to move the ball around quickly.”
