ONE THING baffling Petersfield Town’s football management in the aftermath of Saturday’s game at Hanwell Town was why did the game change so dramatically when Jamie Ford got injured.
The Rams skipper appeared to fall awkwardly about an hour into the game in west London and after lengthy treatment on the sidelines he was eventually taken by ambulance to hospital to treat a dislocated elbow.
His departure from the action seemed to coincide with Petersfield’s collapse from leading 2-0 and being in complete command to ending the game hanging on for a point.
“We’re not a one-man team so I am totally at a loss to explain why things changed so much after Jamie had to come off,” said manager Ian Saunders.
“We were controlling the game at that point and then we were hanging on at the end – it was strange.” Saunders hopes Ford will make a quick recovery from injury.
