PETERSFIELD Town manager Ian Saunders is still feeling “over the moon” at the club’s FA Cup glory.

The Rams moved into the second qualifying round for the first time in their history with a storming 3-1 victory over Weymouth.

Their reward in the next round is another home tie and another game against Southern Premier Division opposition.

Petersfield will face either Dorchester Town or Cirencester Town at Love Lane on Saturday, September 26, kick-off 3pm.

Reacting to news of the draw, Saunders said:?“We’re just very pleased to be in the competition still.

“I’m pleased to be at home again and look forward to competing against Premier Division opposition again.”

Saturday’s victory over Weymouth will go down in Rams folklore and the Petersfield boss is still buzzing about the result.

He added: “I’m over the moon – the result against Weymouth was beyond all our wildest dreams.

“Most people didn’t think we would progress but we were excellent on the day.

“We now need to be careful that we don’t just become a cup team this season – we need to translate this level of performance into our league matches.”

Petersfield are at home tonight (Wednesday) when they play Hythe and Dibden in the Hampshire Senior Cup (kick-off 7.45pm).

On Saturday they return to league action at Love Lane when Royston Town are the visitors (kick-off 3pm).
