PETERSFIELD Town’s SureFix Home Improvements Stadium has suffered storm damage.

One of the floodlight columns was damaged during the high winds last Wednesday night (January 17) – and there was also a small amount of damage, which has already been repaired, to a stand.

Chairman Graeme Moir said: “We discovered the damage to one of our floodlight poles on Thursday and we have moved quickly to assess the damage.

“The safety of everyone inside the stadium is uppermost in our thoughts and planning since we discovered the damage – both the floodlight and stand have been made safe by club officials and a number of local people who have come in and helped us by giving us their time and expertise – and to all of them we send a grateful thanks.

“We have a plan already in place to repair the damaged floodlight and we will be looking to get the floodlight system fully operational as soon as possible.”
