PETERSFIELD Town chairman Graeme Moir has urged everyone at the club to keep doing everything they can to try to turn around their Southern League situation.
The Rams slipped further into trouble last Saturday following their 2-1 defeat to fellow struggling outfit Histon.
The result leaves Petersfield three points adrift at the bottom of the Division 1 Central table and 13 points behind third from bottom Aylesbury.
The chances of Petersfield escaping the relegation places become slimmer as each match goes by and they need to desperately find a spell of winning form soon.
But after a six hour, there and back trip to Cambridgeshire at the weekend, Moir praised the football side of the club for their continued efforts.
“When you are in our position it is not easy to travel all of that way and get beaten yet again. In circumstances like this, it is very difficult to keep yourself going and there are plenty of clubs who would have given up long ago.
“But the players are a credit to the club – they keep going despite the results and they keep trying to turn the situation around, as does our manager John Robson and his coaching staff.
“The league season isn’t over for us yet but time is running out in terms of having any leeway on results – fairly soon we will reach the scenario where winning every week will be a must.
“We are improving though and we will keep trying to turn things around.”
