THE RAIN had the final say as East Hampshire’s football teams were frustrated by the weather on Saturday.

In the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division, lowly Alresford Town’s match against AFC Portchester at Arlebury Park was postponed, and second-placed Horndean’s match against mid-table Newport (IOW) at Five Heads Park was off.

In the Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League Senior Division, high-flying Liss Athletic’s trip to Langstone Harbour Sports Ground to face Baffins Milton Rovers, mid-table Clanfield’s trip to Oakwood Park to face Otterbourne, and Liphook United’s trip to Locks Heath Recreation Ground to face Locks Heath, were all postponed because of the weather.

In Division 1 of the Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League, lowly AFC Petersfield’s scheduled match against Sway at Love Lane was also postponed.
