Brockenhurst 6 Alresford Town 1: ALRESFORD Town continue to struggle in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division as they crashed to a comprehensive 6-1 defeat at mid-table Brockenhurst on Saturday.
Jack Burrows and Scott Joyce did most of the damage for the home side as they both claimed a brace of goals each.
Joyce scored the winner in the corresponding fixture at Arlebury Park, and claimed a hat-trick in a Wessex League Cup tie between the two sides earlier this season.
Saturday’s two goals meant that Joyce has now scored six goals in three games against the Magpies this season.
Ryan Long and Callum Williams were also on target for Brockenhurst, who served up six of the best.
John Howard was on target for the Magpies, but his goal failed to prevent another disappointing result for Alresford.
The Magpies are second bottom of the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division table at Christmas after earning just ten points from their first 19 league games. A marked improvement is needed in the second half of the season if Alresford are to move up the table and away from danger.
