PETERSFIELD Town are looking to push on up the Division 1 Central table after enjoying another historic weekend.

The Rams reached the first qualifying round of the FA Cup for the first time since they have been known as Town last Saturday and they then went on to record their first ever win in the Southern League on Monday.

The last two seasons have been packed with honours and new club records being set so the events of the last seven days are not alien to normal life at Love Lane.

However, manager Ian Saunders is urging his players to take the boost back to back victories has given to the confidence in the Rams camp and use that to push themselves up the table.

“Uxbridge are the best footballing side we’ve played so far this season,” said Saunders, as he reflected on Monday’s home league win.

“It was an end to end game and I was pleased to get the three points. Hopefully we can settle now we have that first league win and start to add to our tally and climb the league table.

“It was a great weekend for the club. We had a fantastic win with ten men in the FA Cup at Moneyfields and the two results have given us a real boost.”

The Rams travel to Chalfont St Peter on Saturday, who currently sit in fourth place in the table. Little is known about the opposition but that does not bother Saunders too much.

He added: “We know nothing about Chalfont to be honest – and it will be the same for them in their knowledge about us. We will concentrate on us and see if we can get another victory.”

Petersfield are now on their fourth goalkeeper of the season – Anthony Ender will continue in goal after his debut on Monday. Matt Shortt, Tom Boyle and Gavin Smith are the other keepers who have appeared so far this season for Petersfield.
