PETERSFIELD Town manager Mark Summerhill believes his side are entering a crucial stage of the season.

The Rams will travel to Whitchurch United tonight (Wednesday) in Division One of the Sydenhams Wessex League, before entertaining Ringwood Town at Love Lane on Saturday.

Petersfield have only picked up one point from their last four league games, but Summerhill is confident his side can return to winning ways.

“Two games ago I was worried we could have four straight defeats, but we’ve produced two really good performances and picked up a good point at United Services,” said the Petersfield manager.

“If we go to Whitchurch and get a result our season will be back on track.”

The Rams lost 1-0 at home to Whitchurch earlier in the season, but Summerhill is confident his side can go away and get a positive result.

“We will go there full of confidence,” he said.

“Whitchurch will be a really tough game. It’s not a good surface and they’re very hard to beat at home. If we win there we’ll be one point behind them with games in hand.

“We know there are no easy games, but if we get a point at Whitchurch and beat Ringwood, four points out of six will be a good return. If we can repeat our performance levels of the past two games we can get our season going again.

“This is a big moment for us now where we will either fade away or kick on again.

“If we’re on it we’ll be away again. Four points will have us off and running again.”
