PETERSFIELD Town manager Mark Summerhill is expecting a tough test when his side host Bemerton Heath Harlequins at Love Lane on Saturday in Division One of the Sydenhams Wessex League.

The match will see former Rams managers Ian Saunders and Jim Macey return to Petersfield.

Summerhill’s side won 2-1 at Bemerton earlier in the season, but the Petersfield manager is expecting a tough afternoon for his side.

“I think Bemerton are the best team in the league and they’re picking up,” he said.

“They are a very attacking side who go out looking to outscore teams. We’re the polar opposite of that, and I’m expecting a tough afternoon.”

Despite being full of praise for Bemerton, Summerhill insists his side have nothing to fear ahead of Saturday’s match.

And the Petersfield boss says his side will go into the game full of confidence after their impressive 1-1 draw at United Services Portsmouth on Monday night.

“We’ve got a good example of what we need to do from our performance on Monday night,” said Summerhill.

“It’s a fresh performance to look back on. We needed a good performance on Monday.

“Now there are happy faces at the club and everyone is looking forward to Saturday.”
