THE RAMS open their Sydenhams Wessex League Division 1 campaign at home to Laverstock and Ford this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Manager Mark Summerhill believes there are a number of clubs to look out for in terms of potential Division 1 winners – AFC Stoneham being one that springs to mind – and there are plenty of rumours circulating that some clubs are spending big money to try to secure promotion.

“With more locally based players in the squad, we have had quite a few people coming along to see what is going on during pre-season,” Summerhill added.
