PETERSFIELD Town manager Mark Summerhill is remaining positive despite his side’s winning run coming to an end.
The Rams conceded in stoppage time to slip to a 2-1 defeat at Ringwood Town on Saturday in windy conditions which were difficult for both sides.
Petersfield had won their previous three league games, and Summerhill sees no reason for heads to drop now.
He said: “I’ve told the players we need to look back at the month as a whole.
“We’ve had three wins out of four in the league.
“At the start of the month I would have taken a point against Laverstock and a point against Verwood. I was targeting eight points for the month and we got nine.
“Our confidence has not been dented by one defeat and we have got to bounce back against Downton.”
Despite remaining upbeat, Summerhill was disappointed that his side returned home from Ringwood empty handed as the Rams had been 1-0 up thanks to Matt Rowland’s goal.
Summerhill added: “Matt scored a great goal. With the difficult conditions we tried to play the long ball to get Matt running in behind. The conditions were horrendous for both teams and it was difficult to play any football. It was difficult for the defence to clear their lines with the wind gusting.
“At 1-0 up I thought three points were on the agenda for us and at 1-1 I would have taken a point, so it was disappointing to concede in injury time.”
