THOUGHTS are turning to next season at Petersfield Town as planning for that campaign begins behind the scenes.
The Rams still have six Wessex Premier Division games to complete and the day to day focus remains on playing those games and doing as much as possible to get positive results from those fixtures.
But thoughts are already turning in the background to the 2018-19 campaign for some club officials, to ensure the right planning is in place so they can hit the ground running once the current season is finally completed.
“After the last two seasons we have had it is important that we put the plans in place on and off the pitch to ensure poor fortunes do not stretch into a third campaign,” said vice chairman Graeme Moir.
“Conversations are being had at the moment across the club – whether it is the works that will take place on the pitch in the close season, sponsorship for next season, work to be carried out in the clubhouse and around the stadium, right through to the football set up we want in place ahead of pre-season training.
“Everyone involved at the club wants to hit the ground running once the current campaign is completed.”
One thing that won’t be changing is the man who will be leading the football side of the club going into next season – Mark Summerhill. Moir added: “Mark has everyone’s full support – we want to see him turn the football fortunes around.”
