ALRESFORD Town had a difficult week as they slipped to two defeats.

The Magpies lost 2-1 at Blackfield and Langley last Tuesday night in the third round of the Southampton Senior Cup.

Adam Pearson gave Alresford the lead in the 24th minute, but Franklyn Clarke equalised for the home side when he scored a penalty on 75 minutes.

Sam Griffin then scored in the 84th minute to send Blackfield and Langley through to the next round.

Alresford then lost 1-0 at Hamworthy United on Saturday afternoon in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

Darren Watts’ goal was enough to give the hosts the three points.
