HORNDEAN have moved up to fifth place in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division after earning two draws in the last week.

The Deans started their week with a 2-2 draw at home to Bemerton Heath Harlequins last Tuesday night.

Jack Maloney gave the hosts the lead at Five Heads Park, and Ash Howes put Horndean 2-1 ahead after Bemerton equalised.

The visitors then equalised for a second time though to earn a point.

Sam Griffin and Scott Joyce had scored the goals which earned Bemerton a share of the spoils.

Horndean then drew 2-2 at home to Amesbury Town on Saturday afternoon.

Maloney scored both of Horndean’s goals to continue his good form, while Cameron Roach and Craig Wheeler were on target for Amesbury.

Horndean have earned 55 points from 34 league matches so far this season.
