HORNDEAN had a good week, winning two games out of two.

The Deans started their week with a 4-1 win at AFC Totton in the second round of the Hampshire Senior Cup last Tuesday night.

Goals from Harry Jackson, Mark Smith (2) and Jack Maloney sent Horndean through to the next round, while Robin Nicholls scored for the home side.

Horndean then won 3-0 at home to Bemerton Heath Harlequins in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.

Jackson broke the deadlock for the Deans in the 33rd minute, and Smith made it 2-0 on 47 minutes. Jackson scored Horndean’s third goal in the 52nd minute.

Horndean manager Michael Birmingham said: “We were a bit lethargic in the first half on Saturday after our efforts against Totton. I told the boys to move the ball a bit quicker, and they did.”
