PETERSFIELD Town vice-chairman Graeme Moir has decided to stand down from his official roles with the club.

Moir will still help the club when his time allows but it will be as a volunteer rather than an official officer role with the Rams.

Moir said: “It has not been an easy decision to reach, particularly as I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Rams and had a largely successful time with the club.

“But for a whole host of reasons I believe now is the right time to step aside after 11 years serving as either vice-chairman or chairman and allow other people to now take the club forward and let some fresh ideas and energy take the club back to where it belongs – that is a minimum of Wessex Premier Division football and perhaps higher in the future.

“During my time with the club, we have made some incredible progress forwards both on and off the pitch.

“Two league titles and promotions took the club to its highest ever league status; there were record runs in both the FA Cup and Hampshire Senior Cup, four reserve team trophies, six other cup finals, and a first ever appearance in the FA Trophy.

“Off the pitch new floodlights were installed and the stadium was upgraded to Southern League standards.

“To have played a part in those achievements over the last decade or so makes me incredibly proud and has given me some of the best experiences I have ever had in football and sport.”
