Petersfield Town 2 New Milton Town 0: PETERSFIELD Town eased past New Milton Town with a dominant victory at Love Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts scored their first goal on 13 minutes. Ryan Kennedy’s cross was cleared as far as Will Webb, who scored with a powerful effort past Luke Denison.

New Milton almost got back on level terms when Aaron Scott’s strong effort was pushed wide by Rams keeper Matt Petts.

The Rams doubled their lead with a superb team goal. Michael Wright and Webb shared a defence-splitting one-two before Webb sent the ball across the box. Denison got a hand to it but Kennedy tapped home his first goal of the season.

The second half started like the first with Petersfield in complete control. However, Kris Stevens got into multiple disputes with the referee, and the Rams captain was sent to the sin bin.

The Rams continued to press and Harry Bedford went close to scoring a third when his effort hit the post.

New Milton then almost pulled a goal back, but Petts made a fine reaction save with his legs.

Another chance for the Rams went begging when Orepo’s excellent cross found Jordan Neal, but his header skimmed the post.

Petersfield had another chance to score a third goal when New Milton goalkeeper Denison played on the edge of his area and was caught out by Orepo’s pace.

Orepo passed the ball to Bedford, but he couldn’t find a way past multiple bodies on the line.
