PETERSFIELD Town’s wonder goal hero Joe Briggs has paid tribute to manager Ian Saunders for getting the tactics spot-on in Saturday’s game.

Many bosses would have been tempted to play a tight game against higher ranked opposition in a cup tie like this but Saunders decided to shuffle his formation and it had the desired effect.

Briggs explained:?“A lot of credit has to go to the gaffer for having the guts to change to a new formation and going for it against a team in a higher league. Even though it raised a few eyebrows when he told us in the changing room before the game, his game plan worked perfectly.”
