PETERSFIELD Town supporters will get a chance to view the club’s rising talents in action for the first team in the closing weeks of the season.

With the Rams in mid-table in Division 1 Central and now all but mathematically safe from relegation, manager Ian Saunders is planning to use the situation to see what some of the club’s reserve and youth team players have to offer.

Reserve team regular Mike Needham has impressed since making the step up to Southern League football and at Gosport Borough last week Harry Giles and John Palfrey made their first team debuts.

Reserve team defender Jordan Geddes has also been given some first team action in recent weeks and Saunders is now set to give more of the club’s young talent a chance to shine.

“We are coming to the closing weeks of the season and it gives me a chance to have a look at one or two of the younger players in the first team environment,” explained Saunders.

“These players have been working hard all season in the reserves and youth team and I have seen what they can do at that level.

“Now is the time to give some of them some first team experience and see how they get on at the Southern League level. I have been really pleased with how Mike Needham has done since coming into the first team.

“Now I can have a look at a few of the others and see if they are ready to make the step up to a higher level too.”
