DESPITE the grey skies eight teams from different parts of Hampshire turned up to compete against a Forest of Bere team for the club’s annual anniversary challenge shoot.

The shoot was set up on the anniversary of the foundation of the club to encourage clubs to meet together and also socialise. The teams of six archers were mixed with males and females and different age groups, with a variety of bow types shooting together.

Competition was fierce between the teams and also between the individual archers on each target.

The winning team, based on handicap adjusted scores according to bow type, was Waterside from the New Forest. Second was Forest of Bere, the hosts, and in third place was AC Delco from Southampton.

The shoot was followed by a barbecue for all participants and helpers, and the weather brightened up.
