PETERSFIELD Ladies produced a strong performance to beat Southampton Ladies’ third team on Saturday.

Anna O’Kelly broke the deadlock and scored two goals in quick succession to give Petersfield a 2-0 lead. Southampton were not defeated, though, and they responded well and pulled a goal back. Within two minutes of the restart Jo Bardoe, who had relentlessly been making runs throughout the game, placed herself on the post and it paid off when the ball was fired from the top of the D and a deflection from Bardoe shot the ball into the back of the net to make it 3-1. Lola Day delivered the final blow. An unsuccesful first attempt at goal was gifted back to her, and as the keeper dropped to the floor to cover the larger angle Day confidently flicked the ball over her to make the final score 4-1.

The win moved Petersfield up to sixth in the table.
