Gosport Ladies III 1 Petersfield Ladies III 2: PETERSFIELD Ladies’ third team arrived at Gosport with eight outfield players and a goalie.
With two goalkeepers available this week, ex-Wasps rugby player Coyte was moved to an outfield position.
L Beate played up front and led the attacking charge from the off.
Petersfield found themselves playing in the Gosport half for most of the first half with Geer, L Beate, Hulme, Ray and Hardwick driving the ball into the Gosport D and the visitors had more than ten shots at the Gosport goal.
Good defending by Amesbury, Coyte and Chandler meant Gosport didn’t create many opportunities, although keeper B Beate did have to run out and kick the ball to safety on one occasion.
Petersfield worked together to keep the play in Gosport’s half after the break, and Geer scored Petersfield’s first goal.
The home side soon equalised, but Petersfield regained the lead when L Beate scored from a short corner.
Petersfield held on for the win, and the ladies’ third team are now in third place in the Hampshire Division 6 (Women) table.
