THE 324th running of Queen Elizabeth Country Park Parkrun on Saturday saw 110 people run, jog and walk the course.

Thirty-seven were first timers, 13 recorded personal bests and representatives of 30 running clubs took part.

There was a large turnout from the Bandit K9 canicross racing team, and team members Georgie and Toby Lambert were first and second.

Georgie and her dog Queen Bee finished first in 17min 31secs. This is the fastest time recorded by a female athlete at Queen Elizabeth Parkrun and is more than two minutes faster than the official unassisted female course record. Toby and his dog Benson came second in 17min 32secs.

The first unassisted runner to cross the line was Ian Hayward, who finished third overall in 19min 18secs.

The first unassisted female runner home was Nicky Thomas from Les Croupiers Running Club. She finished 15th overall in 22min 44secs.

The top junior runner was Marcus Taylor, who finished 14th overall in 22min 44secs.

The top unassisted age graded performance of the day was set by Carol Baker, who finished 21st. Her time of 23min 27secs equated to an age graded score of 76.19 per cent running in the VW 55-59 age category.

The event was made possible by 14 volunteers who helped out on the day. They were Marie Wiles, James Leighton, Dawn Renton, Amelie Lewis, Jamie Lewis, Pippa White, Tanya Roberts, Harriet White, Wendy Cooper, Lisa Needham, John Roberts, Emma Rose, Amelia Nightingale and Alexandra Nightingale.
