THE FOREST of Bere Bowmen held a presentation at the end of their indoor archery season.
Gill Merrett, from Horndean, had a very successful time at the presentation, winning three trophies.
Gill was presented with the Nuts and Bolts of Archery Trophy for being first in the longbow club championship shoot. This trophy was designed and made by one of the club’s longbow archers, John Pyle.
The other trophies won by Gill were the Widley Top 10 for the best 10 longbow scores during the whole indoor season, and the Emma Claire Trophy for the best handicap adjusted score for any archer no matter which type of bow they shoot.
Ted Honeyman, a Hayling Islander who shoots barebow, won the Knockout Competition, and David Gilding from Hambledon, finished second in the knockout competition.
All archers pay a small sum of money to participate in the knockout competition, which is divided between the first and second archers as prize money, which this year was Ted and David.
David also won the prize for the top Recurve Archer, beating Tim Madden from Denmead in a closely fought competition.
