BLACKMOOR Golf Club’s senior section have won the Penang Trophy, a major winter golf competition played throughout the winter months among six clubs in Hampshire and Surrey.

The competition has been running for 14 years and this is the first time that Blackmoor have been victorious for 12 years.

The trophy was presented to the Blackmoor Seniors’ captain, Brian Chambers, at a meeting at West Byfleet by the previous holders, Burhill Golf Club.

Chambers said: “This is a significant achievement for our seniors as winning this tough league has proved to be an elusive challenge for a number of years and it is a great credit to all 18 senior members who have played in the league team this winter.”
