Petersfield Golf Club Ladies were back on the golf course last week at Tankerdale Lane, but this time in scorching temperatures for the annual Lady Captain’s Day.

There were putting and chipping competitions as well as an 18-hole Stableford competition with nearest-the-pin prizes on offer.

Players were treated by ladies’ captain June Smith to ice creams at the halfway house to keep everyone cool and she also whizzed round the course in a buggy to make sure all players were remaining hydrated.

After play the ladies sat down to a two-course lunch provided by chef Russell Orme and his team.

Smith congratulated all the prize winners and thanked everyone for their generous donations and support which helped raise £494.55 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

She also thanked male golfers Chris Atkins, Paul Vangrove, Marshall Smith and Chris Dowty who helped out on Smith’s special day.

Rona Mitchell won an Odyssey Two-Ball putter in the raffle.
